A Sense of Place: Fragments and Deleted Scenes
Los Angeles is a city of pieces.
From its historic landmarks - the Hollywood sign, Griffith Observatory, and Walk of Fame - to the natural beauty of the coastline and the giant palm trees that line the streets, the city's differing segments come together to form a whole. The sprawling landscape and dizzying array of contradictions makes it difficult to view the complete picture and describe Los Angeles in simple terms.
The images, cinematic and evocative, are an exploration of those pieces - but more specifically, the spaces in between. It’s in these recesses that we can disappear and discover the exceptional and abstract, the splendor and rot, the poetic desperation of Los Angeles and its magic. All these pieces contribute to the city's identity, essence, and allure.
